Overview

Fuel Cycle is currently seeking a QA Engineer. As the QA Engineer, you will test mobile and web applications, reproduce, report, and follow-up on incoming issues from clients and client services team, prepare test strategies and write test cases based on requirements, and create effective bug reports. In partnership with our Lead QA Engineer, you will develop a strategic QA plan that aligns engineering, product and client services with our business and our customers objectives. The ideal candidate will have strong will have a strong background with Black Box testing on both web and mobile platforms, incredible attention to detail, and able to manage multiple projects successfully and simultaneously.

Responsibilities

  • Test Web Services and other integration projects performing functional and data validation
  • Prepare test strategies and write test cases based on requirements, functional and/or technical specifications and other documents
  • Perform test design, implementation and execution of existing regression suites and integrating new features into it
  • Perform planned and ad-hoc manual testing
  • Estimate, prioritize, plan and execute testing for bugs fixes, improvements and new features
  • Reproduce, report and follow-up incoming issues from clients or customer success team
  • Work with internal and external clients to replicate the issues, assess severity and classify accordingly
  • Partner with Engineering, Dev Ops, Architect, UX, Customer Success Managers, and Product Management teams on test strategy and planning to enable automation efficiency, rapid tests execution, and meet critical timelines without sacrificing overall quality.
  • Review product requirements, specifications and technical design documents for an early flow and functionality flaw discovery

Qualifications

  • 2+ years’ experience in QA testing, process, practices and methodologies
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for diagnosing application defects
  • Experience testing mobile and web applications
  • Working knowledge of agile software development life-cycle
  • Knowledge of agile development practices, continuous integration, and continuous deployment
  • Java, Java Script, HTML, CSS
  • Experience with Postman, Charles, Fidler
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum/Kanban
  • Experience in automated testing tools (e.g. Selenium, TestNG)
  • Ability to troubleshoot environmental issues by analyzing server log
  • Knowledge of MySQL testing is a plus
  • Hands-on experience with both white box and black box testing
  • Hands-on experience with automated testing tools
