Fuel Cycle is seeking an Assistant Controller to spearhead all accounting functions in partnership with our CFO. As the Assistant Controller, you will be responsible for fulfilling day to day accounting operations, including preparation of financial reports and providing key financial information to our leadership team to help drive growth and profitability. The ideal candidate is detail oriented and solutions driven, with in-depth knowledge of general accounting & finance practices. The abilities to manage shifting priorities with ease, work autonomously, and communicate effectively will help you be successful in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all Accounting operations including A/R, A/P, Payroll, GL and Revenue Recognition
  • Perform month-end closing and prepare timely monthly financial statements.
  • Ensure GAAP compliance and accounting best practices.
  • Calculate and issue financial and operating metrics
  • Manage and administer sales compensation plans
  • Cash flow forecasting & reporting
  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting and creating financial models
  • Maintain tax calendar and prepare tax filings
  • Manage annual audit and prepare supporting documentation for auditors and tax advisers.
  • Improve and monitor internal controls
  • Provide various analytical reports as requested by senior management.
  • Other duties commensurate with the title and position.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field
  • CPA candidate desired
  • 3+ years of progressively responsible accounting & finance experience
  • Previous experience working in a start-up or SaaS software environment preferred
  • Strong technical knowledge of accounting and finance practices
  • Proficient in QuickBooks and other accounting software packages
  • Expert Excel and PowerPoint user
  • Experienced utilizing Salesforce
  • Highly detail oriented, deadline driven, and able to work autonomously
  • Able to analyze and solve problems quickly and creatively with attention to detail
  • Able to remain flexible in a constantly changing environment, while demonstrating strong planning and prioritization skills
  • Positive attitude and excellent communication skills
